Ahead of the Nov.11th 2023 Imo Governorship election, the APGA Guber Candidate for the exercise, Hon.Tony Ejiogu, has expressively vowed to unseat the incumbent Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodimma, who is of the APC.
He made the above remarkable statement on Friday,June 30th 2023 at their party secretariat along Owerri-Egbu-Umuahia Road in Owerri, when he was officially received by the members of Imo APGA from his Abuja tour.
In his welcome address, the Imo APGA gubernatorial candidate, Hon.Ejiogu, expressed satisfaction with the commendable heights of unity, love and progress so far recorded by the leadership of APGA in the state led by the State Party Chairman, Hon.Chief John Iwuala.
The Emekuku-Owerri-North-born- technocrat, Mr.Tony, while speaking to his party faithful(s) and his teeming political supporters and admirers who trooped out enmasse to welcome him from Dee Sam Mbakwe Imo International Cargo Airport, described his warm reception as a triumphant entry into Imo Douglas House (Imo Seat of Power) in the fast gearing November guber polls in the state as slated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Ejiogu, in his words, assured the people of Imo State of quality leadership, when elected as Governor.
The guber candidate of Imo APGA, Hon.Tony Ejiogu, while speaking, said, ” I have come to offer myself as a servant-leader. I am in quest for a leadership job and that job is to be elected as Imo Governor”.
According to Ejiogu, “There must be a positive change in Imo. We must change these current economic situation which is obviously not comfortable to Imo citizens. The statuesque of bad politics must be jettisoned;
” As a young man into the race, I have great vision and good plans for good governance having been a financial expert, and a great economist repute, I have all it takes to offer quality leadership services to the good people of Imo State, when given the mandate as Governor”, Ejiogu stated.
To the members of Imo APGA, Hon.Ejiogu, advised them squarely on the needs to shun money politics and desperation”.
He said, “I have always seen APGA as a movement not as a political party and I have strong believe that I am going to succeed;
“I have good and favourable plans for the people of Imo. I might be the youngest candidate amongst all the political party candidates vying for the seat of Governor but I am pretty sure that I am going to be elected as Governor,come Nov.11th;
“The hand of God is on my guber aspirations, all I am pleading is that you massively join me to the path of victory;
“I am beseeching all the people in Imo to elect me as Governor. I know that my confidence anchors on God who gives power to whomsoever he chooses. I am very sure that I will be elected and sworn-in as the Governor of Imo State in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls”, Ejiogu submitted.
He therefore described his running mate, (Imo APGA Deputy Candidate), High Chief Chris Ejike Uche (Dimkpasa), as a vibrant leader and a man of valour with leadership capacity to deliver.
More so, Hon.Tony, in his passion to deliver Imo State as Governor, said he has 5-point-aganda that revolves around combating insecurity, enhancing infrastructural development/technology, job creation, quality health care and effective power supply.
The Imo APGA State Party Chairman, Hon.John Iwuala, who couldn’t hold his joy, expressed satisfaction with the candidature of Hon.Ejiogu, even as he described his party standardbearer for the guber polls as the Governor Hope Uzodimma’s successor.
In furtherance, Chief Iwuala appealed to all the members of the party from across the 27 LGA’s of the state and the people of Imo irrespective of their affiliations to support for his party candidate and vote for APGA in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls.
Adding his voice, a very critical stakeholder of the party, Hon.Okay Emereole, who spoke as a member of the National Working Committee, NWC, of APGA, assured his party candidate of victory in forthcoming gubernatorial exercise in Imo.
At the Emekuku Owerri-North country home of the guber flagbearer, the father of the Imo APGA Guber Candidate, Chief Sir.Ambrose Ejiogu (Ndaa Ambu), appreciated the leadership of Imo APGA for giving their guber ticket to first son.
“I want to thank members of APGA for finding my son worthy as their guber candidate;
“Though, I am not a member of APGA, but courtesy demands that I should support of my son’s leadership aspirations;
“My son is fit and capable to govern Imo State, when elected as Governor;
“He is coming to put things right not to make money. He has some level of leadership experiences. Yes, during the reign of Sir.Ikedi Ohakim, as Imo Governor, my son served as one of his aides and he delivered efficiently under the “Clean and Green Initiative”;
“My son, Anthony, is not coming as Imo Governor to acquire wealth to build another house in Emekuku or in Owerri. He has built houses in Lagos and in the United States of America;
“He has seen a bit of money, though he has no going to lavish money nor to spend extravagantly. But I am assuring Imolites with confident that my son will not disappoint the good people of Imo, when elected”, Ndaa Ambu submitted.
Continuing, Sir.Ambrose disclosed that he has officially retired from active politics but will ensure the victory of Imo APGA for the sake of his son.
He warned APGA not to allow desperate political merchants who plays spoilers’ game to come nearer to the party.
The elderstatesman, Ndaa Ambu, while speaking, described APGA as movement not a political party for the people of Igbo nation.
“APGA is a political party for the people of Igbo. We must toll the true path of the people of Anambra State who loves APGA with all their hearts. Late Ojukwu formed APGA. Try to reposition APGA”, Chief Ambrose advised.
Meanwhile, the Imo APGA State Party Chairman, Chief John Iwuala, responded to the statement of Sir.Ambu, encouraged him to unleash his electioneering mights for his son to win the polls.
“Ndaa Ambu, we know you as a political general in Imo PDP, now that your son is the Imo APGA Candidate, it is very vital for you to display your political sagacity, electoral capacity by delivering your son as the next Imo Governor, come Nov.11th 2023”, Iwuala beseeched.
Present at the event were some notable political heavyweights in Imo APGA who have shown progressiveness, commitments and true sportsmanship to ensure the guber victory of their flagbearer in the forthcoming gubernatorial polls includes:”The 2023 Imo APGA Candidate for Owerri-North State Constituency polls in the just concluded exercise, Hon.Sir.Barr.Canice Onyekachi Madukaji (Obulimba), and many other political juggernauts from Imo APGA too numerous to mention”.
